Caring for Our Communities
Giving back is foundational to AEP's commitment to our communities. We aim to support and play an active, positive role in the communities where we live and work.
We have been lighting the way for families to grow and businesses to prosper in communities across Appalachia, the Midwest and the Southwest for over a hundred years. We strengthen that legacy of service by supporting education and our community's most basic needs: food and housing.
We invest millions yearly to care for our communities and promote and protect our environment while also supporting initiatives to advance social justice. We are enriching lives, connecting with community partners, making our families healthier, our economies stronger and the future brighter for those we serve.
Our employees are committed to showing up all year long. They are passionate about helping AEP establish a visible presence in our communities by rolling up their sleeves to help build affordable, energy-efficient homes, participating in local cultural parades, coaching youth sports teams and tutoring students in math, science and reading.
In the summer of 2023, we launched our Volunteer 25 by 25 campaign, which is an effort to have at least 25% of AEP employees volunteer and record their activities in the Caring Together Portal by 2025.
